Boston – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Semrush (NYSE: SEMR), the leading SaaS platform for managing online visibility, today announces the launch of Semrush for Education. The program is Semrush’s latest initiative to provide tomorrow’s digital marketers with access to their platform, as well as a special curriculum designed to get their careers off to a quick start. The program was designed to combine what is taught in the classroom with practical knowledge of how the best digital marketers work today.
The program, originally launched in the United States, gives college students the opportunity to gain hands-on and tangible experiences using the tools and technologies owned by many of today’s leading brands. Students will gain hands-on experience identifying keywords, mastering technical website auditing, optimizing for local SEO and creating compelling content among many other things.
“Our goal at Semrush is to inspire current and future generations of digital marketers,” said Andrew Warden, Semrush’s director of marketing. “We believe that with the right access to education as well as the right tools, anyone can become a digital marketing professional. Semrush for Education aims to give students hands-on experience and give them an edge in achieving their dreams. ”
The demand for digital marketing skills and positions is growing. In fact, Semrush data from August 2021 to January 2022 showed a 50% surge (from 5,400 to 8,100) in Google search queries in the U.S. for “marketing internships”. By collaborating with professors in diverse communities, Semrush aims to give students access to the resources and experience needed to stand out in the job search process, to move from a graduate student who aspires to a successful marketing professional.
“Today, there is a big gap in digital marketing education. Students need experience, and employers want students who can start working. One problem I’ve noticed is the lack of access to major digital marketing tools. They are expensive and few of them offer cost-effective solutions for students, ”said Luke Ellie, Professor of Marketing at Brigham Young University. “Semrush is changing that dynamic. They offered free access to the platform for a full semester, study materials, special lectures and a hands-on “field” digital marketing experience ”.
As part of the Semrush for Education, students will also have access to a special tour of the university with guest lectures, where students will learn first-hand from industry experts such as:
Andrew Warden, Director of Marketing, Semrush
Dan Shur, owner, is developing SEO
Eugene Levin, Director of Strategy and Corporate Development at Semrush
Gareth Sasman, Demand Generation Manager, iPullRank
Jason Dodge, CEO and founder of BlackTruck Media
Jonas Sickler, SEO Manager, Terakeet
Mark Bilin, director and founder of SearchLab
Max Roslyakov, Senior Vice President of Marketing Semrush
Nawa Hopkins, President of Navah Hopkins LLC
A series of lectures will be given at Boston University, Northeastern University, Syracuse University, University of California at Santa Barbara and nine other universities across the country.
“Education is a core value for our company. We believe that education is vital for people at all levels of their careers. This is the key to building the future of marketing innovation, and we are proud to launch this initiative today, ”Warden added.
