Projects from research and innovation universities, organizations and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from third countries can apply for grants from 3 to 4 million euros, starting from March 1.

Specifically, research organizations, universities, small and medium-sized enterprises from eligible countries that include most third countries will be eligible to apply for funding for the EIC Pathfinder scheme, which can offer around € 3 million in grants. for individual applicants, while € 4 million will be allocated to those who will address innovation and research issues, as mentioned below.
The collection of such applicants will open on June 15 and end on October 19, and the fund will be distributed in the amount of 167 euros.

In addition, the EIC work program for 2022 has three main schemes, as shown in the following list:
- EIC Pathfinder
The scheme costs 350 million euros and it offers funds through open calls. This year, 167 million euros will be allocated to those involved in six major industries; management and valorization of carbon dioxide and nitrogen; Medium- and long-term systemic integrated energy storage, cardiogenomics, health continuum technology, digital DNA-based data storage, and alternative quantum information processing, communication, and sensing.
- EIC Transition
The scheme will focus on EIC Pathfinder projects and European Research Council projects Proof of Concept and can apply for grants of 2.5 million euros, the application date starts at any time from 1 March. In addition, the scheme offers 60.5 million euros to address issues such as Green Digital Devices for the Future, processes and system integration of clean energy technologies and RNA therapy and the diagnosis of complex or rare genetic diseases.
- EIC accelerator
The € 1.16 billion fund will be distributed among start-ups and SMEs to create important innovations to create new markets or shut down existing ones. The application deadline is not specified, which means that interested companies can apply at any time to receive funding of 0.5 million euros and 15 million euros through the EIC, with grants of up to 2.5 million euros.
