Newport Aquarium to offer free tuition and more to all employees who pursue more education, from day one

Herschend Enterprises, the parent company of Newport Aquarium and the country’s largest private themed amusement corporation, has announced it will cover 100% of tuition, fees and books for its 11,000 employees who choose to pursue further education.

Significant investments in employee education will be made through the GROW U Herschend program. The program aims to make it exponentially easier for employees at all levels to pursue their personal and professional dreams through education.

Herschend’s GROW U. officially launches on February 24, 2022 for all seasonal, part-time and full-time employees at 25 U.S. attractions, including the Newport Aquarium.

“Herschend GROW U. is not only a significant and transformative investment in the growth of our employees, but also our culture of love in action,” said Andrew Wexler, CEO of Herschend Enterprises. “Herschend is rooted in love – it’s evident in every Herschend hotel every day – in the way we treat and support each other, how we create memories that should be repeated for guests, and most importantly, how we care for our employees.”

“We have so many team members pursuing their dreams while working in the aquarium, and that makes them stronger employees,” said Rebecca Foster, CEO of Newport Aquarium. “We are very proud of their hard work in caring for our guests and their bright future, so we are very excited to reward this hard work with this great new educational advantage.”

Herschend’s GROW U. offers 11,000 relevant seasonal, part-time, and full-time employees and accepts more than 100 fully funded (100% free) diploma, degree, and certificate programs from 30 study partners in Guild’s Learning Marketplace, including programs in high-demand areas such as as business administration and leadership, cooking, finance, technology and marketing.

In addition, the company provides partial funding, up to $ 5,250 per year, for 150 additional programs in areas such as hospitality, engineering, human resources and art design.

Herschend Enterprises has chosen Guild Education, the nation’s leading platform for education and training, to manage Herschend’s GROW U. because of their strong reputation for employers and valuable training providers to create opportunities for the American workforce.
