Cedar Rapids, Iowa- (BUSINESS WIRE) – Fluid Quip Technologies (FQT), a subsidiary of Green Plains Inc. (NASDAQ: GPRE) today announced the acquisition of a trusted family of patents from AB Agri. The acquisition of these patents is joined by several additional patents that have recently been issued by the FQT. This expansion of the patent portfolio further demonstrates FQT’s commitment to developing, acquiring and bringing to market technologies that further improve the biofuel production base.
Acquired patents AB Agri grants all rights to these patents. In the U.S., patents № 9,066,531 and 9,963,671 cover patented technologies designed to efficiently separate protein from whole bards in dry ethanol production. The entire family of patents is extensive and covers several countries around the world, including the United States, Canada, Australia and most EU markets, where FQT currently has technology facilities. In addition, the recently issued patents of Fluid Quip Technologies cover many FQT technologies and are distributed in the United States, as well as Brazil and Canada.
