This week I want to talk about the Don Ryan Center for Innovation and Startups.
Starting your own business can seem like a daunting process. However, if you are willing to take action, you can turn your business idea into a startup. Of course, this process will take time and research.
Here is a list of some basic steps you need to start to start your new business:
1: The first thing you need to do is form a clear vision of your startup. Keep in mind that the best business ideas are those that are trying to solve a problem.
2: Another thing you will need to do to make sure your startup is successful is to research the market. Among the questions you will need to answer is whether there is enough audience for your product and what competition you will face. Also, see what your competitors have to offer.
3: The next step is to identify your target audience. By identifying your target audience, you can take specific actions that meet the needs of that audience, thus beginning to build your much-needed customer base.
4: In the beginning you will have a lot of questions and doubts. One of the best ways to solve this is to reach out to various industry insiders and hear what they have to say. Their knowledge and experience will tell you how to go through this difficult process.

5: The intellectual property of your startup, or IP, includes your patents and trademarks. By providing it from the beginning, you ensure that you protect your company from everyone else who may try to copy you.
6: Another step you need to take to create your startup is to write a business plan. Since you have already conducted market research, you already have the data needed to support your ideas and vision.
7: The truth is that one person cannot take on all the responsibilities of a business. For this reason, you need to find out what talents are needed for the smooth running of your business and how great your team should be.
8: The last, most important step to funding your startup is to find out how you will fund your project.
All of these steps allow you to create a secure base for building your startup. The Don Ryan Innovation Center is here to support your startup and allow you to achieve the success you dream of. Contact us to get started, 843-540-0405 or DonRyanInfo@townofbluffton.com.
