NBC 10 Boston, Telemundo Boston, NECN now accepting ‘Project Innovation’ grant applications

NEEDHAM, MA – NBC 10 Boston (WBTS), Telemundo Boston (WNEU), NECN and Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation grant project for innovation project returns to Boston / New England for the fifth year in a row when grant applications open on Friday, 18 February 2022

Relevant local nonprofits whose programs help address day-to-day community issues in any of the following four grant categories are encouraged to apply for a grant at nbcuprojectinnovation.com or nbcuproyectoinnovacion.com. Grant categories include:

  1. Interaction with the community: Programs that allow individuals to participate and volunteer in their communities.
  2. Culture of inclusion: Programs that promote equal access, opportunities, and resources for traditionally underrepresented communities.
  3. Next-generation narrators: Programs that promote access and develop ways for new talent, diverse voices and underrepresented youth to explore careers in news, entertainment, sports and the arts.
  4. Education and empowerment of young people: In-school and out-of-school programs that provide young people with the tools they need to succeed, including STEM / STEAM education and youth entrepreneurship.

Since 2018, NBC 10 Boston, Telemundo Boston, NECN and Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation have provided a total of $ 990,000 in project innovation grants to 16 nonprofits in the Boston / New England community that address day-to-day issues in our communities through one of them. a-kid program. This year, radio stations and the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation will donate a total of $ 315,000 to a maximum of 12 NGOs in each of the participating markets. In all participating markets, nonprofits will be provided with $ 3.475 million. The winners of the grants will be announced in the summer of 2022.

Project Innovation 2022 grants will be presented to nonprofits eligible in 11 markets, including New York (WNBC, WNJU), Southern California (KNBC, KVEA), Chicago (WMAQ, WSNS), Philadelphia (WCAU, WWSI), Dallas.
