CareAcademy Expands Home Health Training Library With State-Approved Continuing Education Courses for Occupational and Physical Therapists

More than 240 hours of training are now approved as continuing education units for licensed OTs and PTs, joining 300+ hours of CareAcademy accredited CEUs for nurses

Boston, February 17, 2022— (BUSINESS WIRE) – CareAcademy, a leading platform for home care and home healthcare organizations, today announced the release of 240+ hours of continuing education for state-licensed professional and physiotherapists. This proposal deepens CareAcademy’s training solution for the home healthcare industry – a critical component for recruiting and retaining healthcare professionals as staffing needs are constantly increasing.

According to the latest report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, about 18,000 jobs were created in the health sector in January, up from 14,300 in December.

“In order to occupy these critical health care jobs, it is more important than ever for employers to offer in-service education opportunities,” said Adriana Weir, a nurse instructor at CareAcademy. “Home nurses as well as professional and physiotherapists often self-seek CEUs to maintain a license. Agencies that offer continuing education benefits will be nominated as an employer of choice. ”

With the new CareAcademy permits, home health agencies can offer the state’s necessary continuing education to a wider range of licensed health professionals by tracking compliance with requirements from the CareAcademy control panel. CareAcademy’s comprehensive home health education solution includes initial training and certification of home health professionals, continuing education for nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and administrators, and advanced disease-specific certifications for continuing health care specialization.

“At CareAcademy, we are constantly striving to expand our library of courses and accreditations to offer more robust and comprehensive solutions to provide assistance. These latest additions are deepening our focus on home healthcare organizations, ”said Helen Adeason, founder and CEO of CareAcademy. “We firmly believe that quality education enables quality care, and our goal is to provide health care providers with the knowledge and skills to achieve the best health outcomes.”

The CareAcademy course library contains more than 300 teaching hours accredited by the American Center for Nursing Certification, which is accepted by nursing boards in all 50 states. More than 240 hours are currently additionally approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association, the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy, and the California Physiotherapy Board. CareAcademy’s internal compliance team works directly with agency administrators to determine a curriculum that meets government requirements for each role and type of license.
