SimpleHealth Acquires Emme, Accelerating Its Digital Technology Innovation in Reproductive Healthcare

NEW YORK – (BUSINESS WIRE) – SimpleHealth, one of the fastest growing reproductive health companies in the country, today announced the acquisition of Emme, a technology company in healthcare that specializes in women’s healthcare. This acquisition expands SimpleHealth’s birth control prescription services and telemedicine services, while addressing unmet reproductive health needs through a patient-centered approach.

SimpleHealth provides convenient, affordable access to birth control and, with the addition of Emme’s patented technology-focused system, looks forward to improving patient adherence to treatment. Emme Smart Birth Control System is an integrated solution designed to reduce national birth control pills by 9% to reduce unplanned pregnancies.

“As SimpleHealth expands its focus to reach patients throughout the full reproductive life cycle, we are excited to join forces with Emme and offer them innovative technology solutions,” said Carrie SueBat, CEO of SimpleHealth. – Both Emme and SimpleHealth are pioneers in the field of contraception, and we are pleased to introduce a company that has a strong position in healthcare technology. This acquisition will further strengthen SimpleHealth’s position as a vital platform for connected personalized reproductive care. ”

The transaction will accelerate SimpleHealth’s digital offerings by supporting the rapid expansion of technological innovation in key categories of reproductive care to gain market share on a very large scale. Emme’s connected smart birth control system streamlines the patient’s ability to receive, track and manage birth control pills while protecting the process. The acquisition will enable SimpleHealth patients to monitor their health through access to fully integrated and connected care that uses personalized data to improve outcomes and satisfaction.

“We have created Emme’s smart birth control system to provide a digital patient support system and help reduce the number of missed pills, which historically accounts for nearly a million unplanned pregnancies in the United States each year,” said Amanda French, co-founder and CEO of Emme. “SimpleHealth stands out as the best company for a partnership as we expand our offering through their unparalleled commitment to access to health care, innovation and our shared commitment to improving standards of reproductive health care.”

French will join the SimpleHealth executive team as Chief Innovation Director, leading the acceleration of SimpleHealth’s product offering for patients. Through this merger, the two women-led companies SimpleHealth will set a new standard in integrated healthcare, using its existing strengths in reproductive and behavioral health to move into preparation for fertility, perimenopause and other transitional phases of life.
